There’s nothing quite as romantic as a beach wedding. Picture this: you, your loved one, and all of your closest family and friends are gathered for the perfect beachfront ceremony. There is a slight, warm breeze and you can smell the ocean, as you feel the sand beneath your feet. After the ceremony is over, guests fling off their shoes and dance the night away at a reception lit by twinkling lights and DJ’ed by the sounds of the ocean.
Hey, you can open your eyes now. Before you get too carried away, it’s important to know that beach weddings can be difficult to orchestrate. But with the right kind of planning, your dream wedding it certainly possible.
Here are seven steps to planning the perfect beachfront wedding:

  1. Plan ahead.
While it seems this one would go without saying, it really cannot be stressed enough. Destination weddings are often difficult to orchestrated when the guests aren’t given enough time to make proper accommodations. You should be sending out ‘save the date’
invitations at least six to eight months prior to the wedding.
  2. Know your guests.
Who are you planning to invite to your beach wedding? If there are children attending, you need to be sure that the beachfront resort has family accommodations, such as family friendly condos and attractions. Additionally, family friendly condos may be appropriate for guests trying to save some extra cash.
  3. Choose a location.
Now that you know who’s attending your wedding, finding a location should be a lot easier to manage. There are many beach locations across the country and the world. Depending on how much money you want to spend, there’s a location right for you. Try booking your wedding during the off-season if you’re looking for less resort congestion and cheaper rates.
  4. Manage your budget.
Destination weddings can get expensive, fast. While planning the wedding, sit down with your spouse and make a clear and honest budget. If you feel as if your budget is limited, there are many ways to save money and still have the wedding of your dreams. For example, make your own decorations and favors, and have friends provide desserts.
  5. Have fun!
Above all, try and enjoy yourself. This is your big day and it should be one to remember. Don’t sweat the small stuff and be sure to focus on what really matters.
